| Board business-Archiving and Copyrights|
I'm sorry to have been an absentee hostess this week, but my life has been anything but easy the last week thanks to illness and other demands, such as accepting job offers. I'll spare everyone, including me, the nasty, grisly details.
Anyway, I have finished archiving the board through March 2001. All of those threads have now been removed off of the current board. I have added a link to the archives at the top of the list of discussions for easy linking.
I removed threads very sparingly and had to edit out smileys due to change of location. I didn't want to use EZBoard's graphics.
Also, since these pages are now posted for posterity, I imagine they will be quoted in student papers and such. For this reason, I placed a SurLaLune Pages copyright on the archives. This is also a way of protecting all of our posters. If I am contacted about copyright and quoting of these discussions, I will ask permission of the original authors, too. When you create something on the web, it is yours, I am not trying to take away that copyright. It is all sticky, but I am trying to protect everyone as much as possible with my limited knowledge of copyright.
Also, if I receive a request to remove content or even a legal "cease and desist" about any content, I will review it and consider removing it after discussing it with the poster. I will not evaluate content for removal otherwise. The only exception will be spam and material that would be considered offensive by a majority. Anything of that nature I will remove ASAP.
On the other hand, if you are unable to remove or edit something that you have written, please contact me and I will edit it for you as you request. Registered users are able to edit their own work. Unregistered users will have to have me edit for them.
Forgive if none of this is clear, I am still working it out in my head, too. I will, as always, be glad to clarify or even address issues I may have missed. Please feel free to ask! We are all learning as we go here.
