Music inspired by Fairy Tales and nature|
”MusiCure” is the name of a series of CDs with calming and adventurous music, made especially for a huge Scandinavian research project, Musica Humana, which introduces a new kind of stimulating sound environment in hospitals.
The music is composed and produced by oboist and composer Niels Eje, and the main objective with the MusiCure productions are twofold: to have a soothing and relaxing effect, and at the same time to stimulate the listener’s sense of imagination in a positive and revitalising way.
The scientifically documented results from more than 5 years of research with more than 3000 paitients, at four major hospitals in Denmark are extremely positive, and show that this kind of music can make a tremendous difference in patient well- being and ability to recovery. From 2004 hospitals in Norway and Sweden has joined the research organization Musica Humana, as well as hospitals in US and Canada (Seattle and Toronto).
The most resent release (May 2004) “MusiCure 3. Fairy Tales” is the third in a series of ten, and presents a number of sound-pictures inspired by the classic fantasy and fairytale themes, as well as Nordic folktales and the nature in Scandinavia. Two previous releases “The Journey” and “Equator” is also very appealing for those who seek music that communicates strong picturesque images for the “inner cinema”, inspired by nature and the art of storytelling.
