Fox Wives
Hello...I'm an oral tradition storyteller looking for a crafted story of the asian fox wife. From Wikipedia, I found this tidbit, "Typically, the young man unknowingly marries the fox, who proves a devoted wife. The man eventually discovers the fox's true nature, and the fox-wife is forced to leave him." I know that story as a spider wife.
Jane Yolen has an excellent story of fox wife, which I love, and I'm interested in the folk tale. I've searched all the website associated with Kitsune. It's likely in an anthology.

Re: Fox Wives
I'm not clear about your question. Are you looking for stories besides the one Jane Yolen did, or looking for a cite for her particular story?

Re: Fox Wives
Well, there's The White Fox, a play based on the Japanese legend of Lady Kuzunoha. Here's an url to it (play written c 1913): http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~azm/tensin/fox_19990303_cover.htm
