Animal Child Motif....
Hey, I am writing a paper comparing different fairy tales with the same motif, the animal child motif. I was wondering if any one knew of some others than the ones I have already read, which are The Frog Maiden and Hans My Hedgehog? Thanks

Re: Animal Child Motif....
The Myrtle is one of this form, although the child is not, technically, an animal.
The Pig King and Prince Marcassin are two literary variants -- the first derived from the other.
I'm not sure from your "Frog Maiden" whether the child has to be born an animal. In The Boys With the Golden Stars, the boys transform several times, once into fish, shortly after their births. And there are more that are transformed while still children.
