Re: True gifts ...
My holiday was severely downcast by a religious fanatic....argh. But I won't get too into that entire ordeal as I would just babble on and on and on and get upset again. I just wanted to say that my celebration, my christmas has little to do with 'Christ'. Yes, I always celebrate the 24th of December with family and friends. Yes, I decorate a tree and give and recieve cards and presents. Yes, there is always a ton of food, and music and cheer (and egg-nog!). But I take part/initiate none of these activities with Jesus and/or God in mind. I do these things because I enjoy having a special time to share life and love with those who are dear to me. I enjoy cooking a ton of food (and eating it!). I enjoy the tree. I enjoy giving(I do so all through out the year)and getting presents. I enjoy having everyone all together (and do so whenever I possibly can). 'Christmas' is just a convient time of year to do these things. An event/object/person..etc.. only has power if you give it that. I do give this time of year power, just not a religious one. Many ppl do and even though they may criticize me and my beliefs (or lack of) and actions I feel I have no right to do the same of them. It is a time to be joyous and merry and to share it with others. So I say this with my entire heart/soul/mind/spirit..etc..

Happy Holydays everyone, may you enjoy them and be thankful and have many more to come. I wish you nothing but the very best. =)

Laughter and glitter,
love and light,
homemade eggnog and chocolate truffle torte (with strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and almond slivers spelling out 'J-o-y'),

Happy New Year
I'm in Paris for the holidays, so I'm not spending much time on-line right now...but I wanted to pop in long enough to say Happy New Year to everyone. I've enjoyed this chat board so very much this past year, and look forward to more discussions in the year to come. Thank you all.

me too
I want to say "thank you" to everyone here also. I don't always have time to post these days - I hope to be able to do so in the future - but I come to read everyone else's comments whenever possible. It's been a difficult year in my household - and it's wonderful to be able to come here and dive into fairy tales, folklore, and literature in such depth. Many, many thanks to everyone, and especially to Heidi. And happy New Year!
