Question for Ms. Yolen

I'm so glad you pointed me toward your short story The Foxwife, in a festschrift for Andre Norton from 1985. Ms. Norton had written a novel with a fox maiden in 1975, called The White Jade Fox. Do you recall if you were familiar with it? Also, she cited Merritt's novel The Fox Woman, from the 40s, as very influential. Did you find the same to be true? I'm curious about your thoughts on this.
