"Red as Blood" and Tanith Lee
I've been looking for this book for several years now and have yet to find it. Does anyone know where I might unearth it for a reasonable price?

books on the cheap
My personal favorite book-shopping site is

www.addall.com

They're a Book Search and Price Comparison site, with search options by author, title, ISBN, and keyword. Also figured in are shipping costs (sneaky little buggers) and any coupon codes or promotions they know about. And they just recently added a CD-shopping branch -- heavenly! I _never_ buy books any more without checking here first to be sure I can't get a better deal.

2 examples: I bought a $17, brand new condition astronomy book to replace the badly worn one I'd gotten at the bookstore for $57 -- hooray for refunds! And then I fell in love with a $45 photography book that I bought online, brand new, for $12.

Sorry for the pitch, but I just LOVE these guys!

Thank you so much! It looks like a great website...but I do have another question. Do they do money orders/checks, or do you have to pay with a credit card?

Ebay ...
Oddly enough, the best place to pick up out of print Tanith Lee books for less than exorbiant prices is Ebay. They've even had copies of _Madame Two-Swords_ (both of which I missed ... damn this having a life stuff!) which have gone for twenty bucks or so. Most dealers list that particular volume in the hundreds. It's where I got my copy of _Red As Blood_ (for about five bucks), and now, you don't even have to wait for the auction to end (they now have a "buy it now" option on a lot of items). Sorry to sound like such a shill ... but, hey, it's the best way that I know of to get hold of these now-rare editions. Happy hunting!

Snow White and Rose Red by Wrede
Hello:

I watch Ebay. Well, I really have friends who actually watch Ebay. <G> Not me. It's time consuming. Also, just ABE. Tanith Lee is available there, because I collect her and occasionally have to buy through them. And another notion is book trading. If you have lots of friends who buy books off Ebay and who want books, attend sales in your local area and buy what they like. I recently traded several books I had no interest in for others which I needed. Another friend knew I was desperate for Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia Wrede and found it through Ebay. Delia Sherman's book is next. <G> So yes, check Ebay yourself and ABE. Also, sometimes Amazon has these books in their auctions or through their Zshops. Try that too.

And good luck. I really love my collection of Lee's books.

More about Addall

Well, not really. Addall.com is a search engine, not a retailer. You tell Addall what book you want, and it searches its huge list of stores to see if they carry the book. Then, it'll figure in coupons and shipping and such and give you a list of links. You then choose which site to buy from, so payment terms depend on the retailer, not Addall. Make sense? I just love it.
