The Spanish Fairy Book and Gerturdis Segovia
I come to query the collective wisdom and knowledge!

Is anyone familiar with THE SPANISH FAIRY BOOK by Gertrudis Segovia? It was originally published by Frederick A. Stokes in 1918 and was reprinted by Dover in 1999. Some great tales, but I'm hard-pressed to find further information regarding the book or its author.

By the way, Heidi, love the search feature now on the site.

Try this web-site
www.eldia.es/2001-05-12/folclore/

I think it is a bio for the same lady.

Re: Try this web-site
I own the book and wasn't overly impressed with it when I read it, but I was looking for something different at the time. I admit need to revisit it and plan to do so soon. I was wanting something like Thomas Crane or Italo Calvino's Italian folktale collections--it's not that kind of caliber book.

I am not at home right now, but I will check later and see what other information I can find about it for you, such as table of contents and an author bio.

And I am happy the search feature is a success!
