Adele Geras' Troy
Not fairy tales, I know, but has anyone read Geras'
"Troy"? I'm curious what you thought, esp. in comparison to McLaren's books (Inside the Walls of Troy and Waiting for Odysseus).

Anyone read it?

Re: Adele Geras' Troy
Elise,

It's on my stack and I hope to get to it in the next week or so. I'll have to fess up and admit to never reading McLaren's books. I think the last Troy related book I read was Bradley's "Firebrand" when I was studying the classics as an undergrad.

Adele Geras
I haven't read Troy yet, but I recommend her Egerton Hall series--_The Tower Room_, _Watching the Roses_, and _Pictures of the Night_, which are teen novels based on Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. No "fantasy" elements, just coming-of-age-stories I wish I had read at fourteen or so.
