Rumplestiltskin Mystery/Thriller
Was it someone on this board who recommended Katzenbach's "The Analyst"? It's a kind of mystery/suspense novel that's explicitly connected to Rumplestiltskin. Has anyone read it? If you have, don't tell me what happens!! I just got it and have only read a few chapters, but so far it's *great*, a real page-turner -- stayed up until 1 AM reading last night, when I should have been getting my beauty rest.

Rumplestiltskin
Well, having finished The Analyst, I can now report that it's a pretty good book. It makes good use of Rumplestiltskin, in the sense that the poor analyst of the title has to figure out the name of someone who's threatening him within 2 weeks or face dire consequences. I found it quite a page-turner.

It also uses Odysseus and the Odyssey a bit, but not very effectively, I thought -- it just came up once in a while and felt a little stuck-on, unlike the Rumplestiltskin connection.

Give it a try! I've moved on to In a Dark Wood, which seems pretty interesting . . .

Another Rumplestiltskin connection
If you like that one, try The Changeling by Frances Gordon, excellent parallel to the tale set in modern times.
