Thank you -- re: shoes
I wanted to post a thank you to all board members who participated in the shoe folklore discussions. I just finished my rendition of the Red Shoes, which I'm mailing off today. I also took all of that info, reslanted it and queried Bride's magazine on a shoe folklore story. I recieved a call yesterday from the editor and she loved the combination of modern practicality and the historical/folklore treatment. Thanks again to everyone for your help. This is my first national magazine sale and I couldn't have done it without this wonderful resource.

Re: Thank you -- re: shoes
Dear Carrie:
I don't think that I participated in that discussion, but I'd just like to offer my congratulations. How exciting! Do you know which issue it will be coming out in?

Best,
Helen

shoes
Helen,

You might want to look back in the archives. We had some interesting conversations about shoes. I have a personal passion for them and actually have a collection of glass shoes. (They look a little odd, mixed as they are with an even larger collection of gargoyles.) The editor mentioned that my deadline is March 25, so I'm guessing that the piece will run somewhere between 3 and 6 months out. Magazines are such a tricky lot. Phoenix Magazine runs three months and Arizona Highways is eight months out. But I'll let you know when I find out, if you're interested. I'm so thrilled, I'm having a hard time staying put in my chair.
