HJ Ford (Illustrator for Andrew Lang)
I'm slowly building up a collection of the original 'Coloured Fairy Books' which started to appear in the 1890s. (they fetch fairly high prices these days though).
The illustrator for most of these was HJ Ford. Does anyone know where original examples of his work are to be found? The UK art antiques guides say that his original artwork does occasionally come up for sale, so I guess there's some of it open for public viewing somewhere.

Chris.

Re: HJ Ford (Illustrator for Andrew Lang)
Our board hostess has a wonderful Illustration Gallery dedicated to him:

../../../illustrations/illustrators/ford.html

Also, this site seems to have the stories and illustrations:

www.belinus.co.uk/fairyta...wspage.htm

Hope this helps!

Soft whispers and valley blossoms,

Kerrie
