Trailer / Leader?!? (uhm, Kinda OT)
I have to apologise for the moderately off topic, but I'm at my wit's end and you lot seem as if you may know...

A number of the "cannon" english folk albums from the sixties and seventies seem to have been re-released in the last five years by an english lable I have only seen referenced as "Trailer/Leader". Fairport, The Watersons, that sort of thing... anything Sanachie (sp?) didn't, apparently, pick up. Does anyone know who they are? How I can buy from them? Amazon.com doesn't seem to know, and not a search engine on the internet can help me either.

Anything anyone might know would be fantastically helpful...

etc,

Charlotte (desperately in search of "Bright Phoebus" by Christmas)

Re: Trailer / Leader?!? (uhm, Kinda OT)
Charlotte and anyone interested,

My favorite site for reading about music and what may or may not be in print is www.allmusic.com. This site does for music what www.imdb.org does for movies, or as close as any site I have found. Unfortunately, according to the site, Bright Phoebus is not in print in the US. See their page on The Watersons at:

www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.d...l67ul0h0jk

You can also research labels on allmusic.com. Trailer is listed as a label. There isn't much information about it, but it does list its major artists.

I also checked for the Watersons in Amazon.co.uk. It is not listed there either. Probably a vinyl is all you will be able to find before Christmas.

Also. . .
You might also check Greenman Review and Rambles, both folkie/mythos review sites.

Thanks!
Thanks guys! Heidi, I actually followed the link from allmusic.com to the Trailer site who, after a brief exchange of emails, claimed they weren't the Trailer I was looking for, and suggested a few used CD trade sites. After a few seconds of searching, I actually found the album through a trade site!

I'm so hysterically greatful to these guys I have to give them a plug... www.musicexpress.com is an importer of European CDs, they seem to have a lot of the wierd, harder-to-find stuff that we Canadians (and Americans, I imagine) can't seem to find.

Thanks!

-charlotte, soon owner of Bright Phoebus and all the song-spun glory that comes with it.
