anailev Unregistered User (8/15/03 12:17 pm)	Help me... Hi...I'm new here and I need help. I watched a mini-series around 8 years ago on TV. I’m pretty sure that it’s based on a book. But I don’t know the title of the film or who the actors and the actresses are. It’s about a princess who has to marry a prince for political reason. She (of course) doesn’t want to. Her father (the King) forces her and really gives her a hard time that she finally runs away from the kingdom and disguises as a man to fool people looking for her. On the other side, the prince refuses to marry too because he believes that marriage should be with someone he loves. In someway, they both meet and without knowing each other backgrounds, they become friends (not a real good one, cause they often disagree with each other). The prince finally founds out that his friend is actually a girl. They start to fall in love with each other. And then the time come that the King finally founds her daughter and uses another approach to make her understand how important the marriage is to everybody’s life. The marriage can somehow prevent or stop the war between the two kingdoms, many lives are involved there. She goes back to the kingdom (and so does the prince). She admits that she was being egoistic. She finally agrees to her dad to marry the prince. Luckily, the prince is actually the man she’s in love with. I recall that there’s a goose in this story but I forget what it has to do with the whole story (it's really a long time ago ). Any ideas from which book this story is? the title of the film will do too.. Thanks.

The film You remember is called "Princess Fantagiro" and, as far sa I remember, it's an Italian one. The goose is a fairy and helps the princess. Is that right?

As I was browsing the net in search of information on Fantaghiro, on the off chance the film is on DVD, I happened upon your site. You wondered whether there were one or two parts of the film. In fact, there are eight. In Germany you can obtain the film on video (VHS) up to parts 5&6, however, my reason for not purchasing any film from Germany is that they change the language into German. The original film is in English.
