princess frog
I am looking for a story about a princess frog. There is a princess who is turned into a frog and must get a prince to kiss her to turn back into a princess. The prince may also be the frog, but I think it is the princess.I would appreciate it if anyone can direct me to a site or book which has this story in it.

Frog Princess
Frog Princess by E.D. Baker just came out. It features a Princess who turns into a frog when she kisses an enchanted frog prince. They travel together (in frog form) seeking the cure to their enchantment so they can return to human form.

The Princess into frog transformation isn't an uncommon twist on the tale. I seem to remember the Muppets doing it once.

There is a Russian fairy tale called "The Frog Princess" that you can find in the Pantheon edition of Russian fairy tales, and at this website:
www.geocities.com/Athens/Agora/5873

There's also an Italian version of the tale, "The Prince Who Married a Frog," which you can read in Italo Calvino's collection of Italian folktales.

Try The Robber Hotzenplotz by Preussler. Loved it as a kid and still do.

Frog princess
A wonderful frog princess story can be found in an Asian versian (Chinese or Japanese). It has aspects of an animal bridegroom story, ie. the common burning of the animal's skin and the bridegroom fleaing/being sad and disapearing. But it also has similarities to a lot of mermaid stories where the man innitiates the marriage. Its very sweet.

Frog Princess
There's a story in the Green Fairy Book called "Puddocky" (Scottish word for frog, if I'm to believe Google) in which a girl is turned into a frog. I don't remember if the girl is a princess or not, though.
Gail Carson Levine did a retelling of this tale in For Biddle's sake also.

Hope it helps

There is not only a frog variant, but also a mouse one. It's an Udmurtian tale, as far as I remember, and I have it in Russian (with its bibliography). But I can translate it for You, if You like. I'm afraid my English is not very good in fact, but I can do it. Just write to me:
