The Professor...
For those who may not yet be aware, today is Tolkien's birthday. More importantly, it would have been his eleventy-first (111) birthday- just as it was Bilbo's eleventy-first at the start of The Fellowship of the Ring.
Apparently, there will be celebrations around the world, where, at 9PM local time, glasses will be raised and the words, "The Professor" will be uttered.

the death day of famous people
that is very darling of you to remember to tell us Kerrie. I liked the image you made very much. Its an asontinshing thing to think of people's spirits continuing to age. I know the Jungians in Zurich celebrate Jungs "death day.' He would be I think about 120 years old this year, maybe more. My grandmother said whateer age you are, read it backward, and that is the age you get to "act" all year long. For double numbers, take away one digit. Some years you are far older than your years, at the beginning of each decade, far younger.
(I come from a peculiar family. Don't laugh)

It warm's my heart and bring's a tear to me eye.
Everyone should be aware of the utterly fantabulous book JRR Tolkien Author of the Century. I can't remember the author right off the top of my head but its a like a commentary to his books and a bit of a biography. He had a sad life.
