Rhyme
My main interest lies in the Rhyme for Children. The "Mary had a Little Lamb" type where one tells the story and teaches the point (moral), in Rhyme. Before I start searching through Google, does anyone know of a "board" like SurLaLune, which specializes in Rhyming Fairy Tales?

Thanks one and all.

Re: Rhyme
I am not aware of any other boards similar to this one on that topic. What kind of discussion about the poems/songs are you wanting? Mary Had a Little Lamb was written by Sarah Hale about a little girl she knew with a loyal lamb. Although it has entered our canon of traditional songs and rhymes, it is not part of the nursery rhyme canon from Britain and elsewhere. It is all-American along with apple pie and baseball.

Note that the song isn't a fairy tale either. Not trying to be picky, but I enjoy these songs myself and like to put them in their place. :)

Sorry
RymRytr,

I too have tried to locate a nursery rhyme message board as well, to no avail, I am sorry.

If you do find one, would you post it here?

Much thanks,

Val

Reason
To partially answer the above question, the reason is that I write (as a hobby) Non-Sense Verse and other Story Rhymes, some for kids, some not. I'm looking for input on my version of "Mary's Other Lamb", and am looking for others that are interested in writing Nonsense.

Here is my "Mary". 81x.com/rymrytr/Youth

What do you "see" in this poem? To whom would you read it, or allow to read it? Is it boring, just so-so, or do you like it? Why? Would you buy a CD, read by the Author, if it contained this and other "Children's" Stories, etc.? Thanks for your input. You can send me private e-mail, if you desire, at rymrytr@poetic.com

Thanks for your help.
Rym Rytr 1 :)
