Y'know, the Bordertown series would make a kick-ass comic book series. Food for thought.

B'town comixs
We have kicked this idea around for years. It is however more difficult to do than it looks. Finding the right artist--who also has the time and passion at the moment--finding the right script--making the transition editorially into comic book story--working with the constraints of the form...and then dealing with the logistics of the right publisher--should it be episodic, or should it come out as a graphic novel--comic books are fairly complicated collaborations--especially with Bordetown which was large and collaborative to begin with.

Terri and I have ventured into this wonderland a number of times..each time learning something new about the process...but each time the pieces haven't quite come together. That may get easier over the next year or so--I have a tentative approval to put together a new Bordertown novel for Sharyn November of Viking--who is interested in seeing the B'town stuff revived. So who knows...maybe it will happen.

Re: B'town comixs
A new novel would be awsome. B-town is an incredible world and highly un-apreciated. I've got all of the books but one, only because it's out of print and I can't find it cheaper than 40 bucks. If another book comes out, I'll buy ten copies and give them to all of my friends.

Bored Now. This is the part that's less fun. When there isn't any screaming.

Borderland
My apologies for taking so long to answer your question -- I've been off this board for several months due to deadlines and health problems. It's nice to be back...

As Midori says, there is interest in reviving Borderland, but it will be in book form rather than cmics, at least for the time being, for the reasons Midori states above. I'd *love* to see Borderland comics, but haven't yet found the right combination of people to create them.

Tor Books is republishing Emma Bull's Borderland novel, Finder, in their Young Adult line, Starscape, with a very cool, comics influenced cover. You can see the cover over on Amazon.com.

It'll stop here, because this is all off-topic for a fairy tale discussion list -- but thanks for your interest! When there's any concrete information on future Borderland plans, we'll post it on the Endicott Studio web site.
