Madonna and
Fairy tales?
Just wondering -
While relaxing in Mexico this week, I ran across an article in the WSJ or NY Times that Madonna is writing children's books that are her own adaptations of some fairy tales. Of course, the descriptions were as bizarre as the woman herself, but knowing Madonna, she will get these published. Anyone catch this article?

In fact it's been announced that Penguin/Putnam is giving her a contract for five children's books about a prince and a talking fox, for a gadzillion dollars. That gnashing sound you hear is all the (poor) children's book writers teeth grinding. Another celebrity sucking up all the money and marketing.
And wait till the kids who like her first book go looking for anything else she has written. . . .

A frightening thought
Jane,
It is truly mind-boggling, isn't it?! When I read it, I thought it was a joke, but then it hit me - this is real. She really is going to publish this stuff. Make me wonder why I sit in the dark before the kids get up, outlining, researching and drafting page after page with only a dream of getting published. Sigh.
