Myth and legend copyright
Hello!

I am hoping someone here might help me on this. I have a question about copyright. I am interested in adapting two legends (one Grimm's Snow White, the other a tale from Sanskrit about Krishna and Arjuna) to an illustrated novel format and am wondering if this is considered public domain or if I need to obtain a copyright.

Thank you very much!

Re: Myth and legend copyright
Make sure that you use as source material the oldest Grimms you can find. Pre 1923 is PD material. You don't want to use a modern retelling as your source.

Ditto the Krishna material. Make sure it isn't someone else's made-up tale.
