Thumbelina picture book
I know that Heidi will soon be putting a whole Tom Thumb/Thumbelina section up, but there's a baby girl I know who has fallen in love with the song "Thumbelina" and I'd love to find her a beautifully illustrated version. Did Trina Schart Hyman ever do a Thumbelina? If she hasn't, does anybody have any recommendations?

Re: Thumbelina picture book
Veronica, just for you, a link to the under construction Book Gallery for Thumbelina. And, no, Hyman didn't illustrate a stand alone picture book of the tale, but Lisbeth Zwerger did and you might miss it since it is titled Thumbeline, not Thumbelina.

Thanks so much Heidi! I'll get the Lisbeth Zwerger one, and of course I'll order via surlalune!

Re: Thumbelina picture book
You're welcome. I have received many requests for Thumbelina recommendations over the years and have intended to get a list up long before now. Not trying to sound old, but SurLaLune is six years old this month, so years it is!

Slightly OT, but ... Six years? And I've been on for (I calculate roughly) approximately five. Wow, talk about your milestones ...

So, kudos to you, Heidi, for maintaining a wonderful resource and community for over half a decade, and congratulations to all of us for being able to participate in it.

Thank you.

(Actually, rampant curiosity drove me to go and check the archives ... 4 years and 15 days. And a lovely 4 years they've been ... all my time in grad. school, and then some. Significant, perhaps?)
