Segur-Illustrated Alice in Wonderland
Hello everyone - I am finally posting to this board after lurking on and off for years. (Led here by searches for information on Adrienne Segur.) I have been thrilled to find that so many others were touched in childhood by her illustrations. (Thank you, Terri Windling, especially, for your contributions about her here, as well as your very moving tribute page.)
I have been searching for the French Flammarion edition of "Alice in Wonderland" for ever, as I have never seen Segur's work for this. Much to my amazement, it turned up in an Ebay search today, (the seller is in France), complete with scans of four illustrations. I am in heaven. Though my first impulse was to TELL NO ONE in the hopes that I might have a chance of winning it, I don't really have the resources to compete with other collectors. But I just had to share this auction with Terri and all of you so that you can see those illustrations. Who knows? Maybe one of you will win it and post some scans for us.
