Fairy Tale Radio
BBC Radio stations often broadcast fairy tale related material and for those of you who aren't in radio range they broadcast free and live over the internet and many of their programmes are free to listen again via the net any time for a month after the original broadcast.

They recently broadcast an excellent new Sara Maitland version of Hansel and Gretel called "Slicing the Gingerbread" but sadly it's not on listen again.

Michael Rosen's programme in the BBC Radio 3 "Twenty Minutes" slot is "Uncle Chukasha" about Kornei Chukovsky and will be broadcast live on the net at about (depending on the live classical music concert it's embedded in) 7-45pm (British Summer Time) on Monday 23 August. Website for listening:

Five Joan Aiken short stories are being broadcast in a BBC Radio 4 series called "A Necklace of Raindrops" which is broadcast live on the net at 3-30pm (BST) on Mon 23 , Tues 24, Weds 25, Thurs 26, & Fri 27 Aug. Website for listening:

Re: Fairy Tale Radio
I'll post these but if no one owns up to listening then I'll stop...

A four hour dramatisation of Homer's "Odyssey" adapted by poet Simon Armitage with an all star cast. The first two episodes are 90 minutes each and the third is 60 minutes. Available for internet listening here:

Poet Wendy Cope's fairy tale play "The River Girl" is available for internet listening here:

I'll second that! It's great to have the schedule. I've been trying to check them out--but my life has been too busy lately. I am going to post the announcements for these programs on the Endicott Board as well.
