FT Radio B
OK, as Terri and Midori have reassured me that I'm not wasting Heidi's bandwidth, here's another radio play:

"Tainted Love: A Guide To Vampire Romance"
will be webcast live on Tuesday 21 September at 2-15pm British Summer Time and will then be available via the "listen again" facility on the following webpage for at least a week afterwards...

www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts...play.shtml

BBC Radio 4 are also about to begin broadcasting a new series of "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", or h2g2 as it's known to fans, which I reckon counts as a fairy tale because it contains all the usual characters and elements i.e. the wise fool Arthur Dent goes on a quest (for a decent cup of tea) in which he is assisted by a talking animal called Ford Prefect (whaddya mean he's not a talking animal? He's from Betelgeuse so he sure ain't human!) and acquires various magical objects such as the Guide and an all important towel...
You can either go to the BBC Radio 4 home page and follow the hype or just sit back and wait as it will no doubt be coming to a radio station near you soon...

Re: FT Radio B
This week's fairy tale related radio include:

an above average play of Francis Spufford's memoir, about growing up reading speculative fiction from fairy tales via fantasy and sci fi to magical realism, called "The Boy That Books Built" which was broadcast on Mon 27 Sept and can be accessed via the listen again link on the webpage given in the above post,

and 15 minutes of A.S. Byatt talking about fairy tales (nothing startlingly new if you already know Byatt's work) on "Open Book" broadcast on Sun 26 Sept which is available on listen again via the following webpage.

(I'm on Radio 4 this afternoon too but I'm not telling which programme)
