Know anything about Succubi or Inccubi?
I read that a Succubi or Inccubi can appear in dreams but I don't really remember what their bad deeds are. One more thing. I do know that Inccubi are the males and Succubi are the women.

succubi and incubi
Their evil deeds are sexual. They cast some kind of irresistable sexual spell that ends up destroying the bewitched one.

nightmares and witches
Succubi are generally the witches which have sexual intercourses with the demons during the sabbath. They're succubi because, differently from the medieval male magicians which controlled demons, they're under the power of the devil.
Incubi are the nightmares: from the latin "to press on". They are believed to seat on the victim's chest during the sleep suffucating him/her. Have you seen Fussli's paintings (they're two slightly different) titled The Nightmare? That's an incubus. And a "mare" of course.

If you go here: www.findarticles.com/p/ar...106981966, or anyway on www.findarticles. com and look for "davies nightmare", you'll find an interesting essay on the subject.

About succubi - every early modern demonological treatise on witches - Bodin, Bovet, etc. (also the medieval Malleus Maleficarum: it's the main source for these authors).

info for you
A Succubus is a female demon which comes to men, especially monks, in their dreams to seduce them and have sexual intercourse, drawing energy from the men to sustain themselves, often until the point of exhaustion or death. An inncubi does the same thing. In some legends, incubi and succubi were said not to be different genders of the same demonic "species," but the same demon able to change their sex; the idea being that a succubus would be able to sleep with a man and collect his semen, and then transform into an incubus and use that seed on women. Nevertheless their offspring were thought to be supernatural in many cases, even if the actual genetic material originally came from humans. Lilith and the Lilin (Jewish), Lilitu (Sumerian) and Rusalka (Slavic) were succubi

Re: info for you
There's actually been some research done about demons crushing people while they sleep. It's a phenomenon that turns up in almost all world cultures: the person wakes up, is paralyzed, feels a crushing sensation on their chest while a malevolent presence is either in the room or actually on top of them. This article in Science News covers the phenomenon, and, as a plus, includes the painting described above. It's an interesting read.

Best,
Alice

scared!
I sawa programme about that when I was really young and it terrified me for years! In this one it wasa n old woman who sat of your chest in a big oak chair and the people she did it to were saying that they couldn't breath and that she would just stare down at them and that they couldn't scream...I still fall off to sleep feeling more comfortable with my arm over my chest or a pillow over my eyes!hehe.

The Incubus Experience
Want one?

Here's two anecdotes first. 8o

My cousin Miguel was in the Peruvian military a few years ago and he played ouija one night and went to bed. Just before waking up he felt a crushing sensation on his legs. He saw a shadowman sitting on him but since he was really tired, he ignored it and it went away.

Mine on the other hand was a classic. (Never touched a ouija board in my life. Never done witchcraft ether. FYI)

I had a Normal day then I went to bed. Before waking up I could see my entire bedroom, hear what was going on around me but I couldn't move a muscle. My breathing became impaired, to the point where I couldn't breathe anymore (I'm slim and healthy by the way) then, I felt an evil presence in the room and I was so scared thought I was gonna die. I woke up a little perturbed but life went on.

I've had them at least 14 times from that day and im 19.
Two of them with the incubi.
4 of them were self-induced... in one afternoon. (I bet you're wondering how.)

So, evil prescence or mental glitch? :evil

Well, whatever it is you can do it as many times as you want. You just have to know how.

How to do it:

Sleep at least 10 hours.
Then when you wake up don't get out of bed.
Take a nap instead.
(You can force your body to sleep even if it dosen't want to.)
You'll then be half awake / half asleep.
That's when you'll start feeling the basic symptoms of sleep paralysis.
You'll start to feel fear and you might have a chance to wake up at that moment but if you want to have the complete 'experience' then ignore it and let it happen.

That's it. Just sleep more then you need to and you'll get all the hibby jibbies you want. (Hey, it worked for me so it might work for you.)

Of course before doing this, consider that it isn't healthy for your body or your mind. People tend to hallucinate in that state and you can't wake up when you want. Once it starts it can't be stopped. The paralysis will run it's course and no one will be able to help you.

Good Luck :rollin

Evans-Wentz
In Evans-Wentz' book "The Fairy-Faith in Celtic Countries" there's a "true" for what it's worth account of a man who was bothered at night by a female fairy to the extent that he decided to leave Ireland to go to either the U.S. or Canada, I don't remember which, and the fairy emmigrated with him.

Re: Evans-Wentz
Heh. I bet it's easier to get a visa when you're a fairy.
