Another Woo! moment for New Yorkers: Charles Vess signing
I haven't seen this mentioned yet, and I just learned of it myself: Charles Vess will be at Jim Hanley's Universe in Manhattan promoting THE BOOK OF BALLADS on February 9!
The signing is from 6-8 pm. Hanley's is on West 33rd Street, just off 5th Avenue.

If you're a comics fan and you've never been to Hanley's, this is a great time to come out. Though not the cheapest, it is, in my humble opinion, the brightest and best organized of the lot.

That NYC visit
Hey all,
I hope that few of you can come by for a visit the night of my signing. I'm actually in town for the Gala opening at the Society of Illustrators on Tuesday night (free to all) . The exhibition is of all the accepted work for the 'Sequential Division' for which they accepted three pieces from my BOOK OF BALLADS. The cover and one page each from 'King Henry' and The False Knight on the Road' will be included. I've always wanted to have work at the SoL so I'm really chuffed about this event. This also means that that exhibited work will be published in their full color annual this year. Cool indeed!
On other fronts the book continues to receive excellent reviews for both the art and stories as well as Terri's splendid introduction.
