Cannon Movie Tales coming to DVD!
The musical fairy tale series of films from the late 80's is finally coming to DVD on August 9th!
The films star an amzing cast, including Amy Irving, Billy Barty, Rebecca DeMornay, John Savage, Diana Rigg, Sarah Patterson, Christopher Walken, Jason Connery, Sid Ceaser, Clive Reville, Cloris Leachman, David Warner and many others.
Red Ridding Hood is already available.
Sony recently bought up MGM and is releasing Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, Emperor's New Clothes, Puss in Boots, and Hansel and Gretel.
Sleeping Beauty and The Frog Prince are oddly not being released yet.
Cover art is available on Sony's website and the only features that have been revealed are Theatrical trailers for all films.
This is my personal favorite fairy tale series, because it has great casts, sets, costumes, and some really good musical numbers.
Do yourself a big favor and buy these when the come out.

Beauty and the Beast will be released, too.

I'll give "Rumpelstiltskin" points for Barty's sporting attempts to camp it up, but for the most part,
A) The films weren't very good, and
B) Being Golan/Globus, the scripts were chiefly designed to be a little too easily translatable for foreign markets.
...They're fun/okay rents, but won't replace Shelley Duvall anytime soon.
