Another diamonds and toads
I've heard another variant on the Diamonds and Toads story. First version I heard is in the repertoire of Stanley Robertson, the Scottish traveller storyteller. Second variant was told by Nick Hennessey, an English storyteller, and a protegee of Stanley's, but the version that Nick told is a Russian variant.

The story has the typical sisters (or maybe stepsisters) and as usual they are as different as chalk from cheese. First sister, the good one, helps an old chair. She then dances with it - chair changes into the devil. Girl asks for lots of things for herself - gets them too. Says all the right things and leaves before the cockerel crows.

Other sister wants all the goodies that her sister got, but she is not kind to the chair. And she doesn't say all the right things. The dance goes on after the cockerel crows and she is turned into a cinder.

Does anyone know the name of this variant, and where I may obtain the words for it? It's not on the "Similar to Diamonds and Toads" part of this site. My simple version here is from memory after hearing the story, and NOT from a book. Thank you!
