The Bronze Ring, Andrew Lang
Hi everyone!

I am new here and would like some help, if possible? I am doing a folklore presentation for my Childrens's Lit. class. I chose The Bronze Ring, in the Blue Fairy Book by Andrew Lang. I have to find different versions or similar tales of The Bronze Ring. I am having no luck so far. Even the Librarian is stumped! I would be happy just finding the origin of the tale. If anyone could steer me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Kelly

Re: The Bronze Ring, Andrew Lang
Lang's source was MidEast/Central Asian. Traditions Populaires de l'Asie Mineure. Carnoy et Nicolaides.

Some tales don't necessarily have similar tales across cultures. There are always similar themes--magic rings or other objects, poor servants winning the hands of the princess, impossible journeys, etc.--but you'll really have to choose the themes and then search from there.
