A HUGE problem!

Does anyone know how I could weave this into my Snow White film?

The queen for one did not conceive Snow White with the king, but with someone else, who the king has now killed. His brother is the huntsman named Samuel, who is now Snow White's uncle.

Now that that ist aken care of, I want to know what you think should drive the queen off the deep end and have her child killed and how it should happen exactly. I have heard things about a deal with the devil, a potion, and strange pills that give her haulucinations.

I want to make a psychological horror film in the same vein as, let's say Rosemary's Baby. Any tips? Hints? I would really like some solid input. Don't be afraid to suggest something. Any little bit helps. I want to please peopel with this film.

Re: A HUGE problem!
I would imagine that guilt over the death of her lover could drive the queen mad, and that she might well project a great deal of that guilt onto the child, especially if it was as a result of the pregnancy that the king found out that he was being cuckolded, and/or if the child grows to look a lot like her father, thus serving as a constant reminder. That would also explain why the king lets the queen treat her a servant.

Should the king die?
I had an idea that the queen first snaps and kills the kings somehow. She has more reason to kill him first.

What signs do you think I should show to tell the aduaince that the queen is crazy or turning crazy?

Thanks

Re: Should the king die?
Depends on what kind of crazy you want her to be going. If you're thinking of schizophrenia, a movie called the The Caveman's Valentire has a truly moving and disturbing depiction of that illness, and according to at least one mental health professional I know, it's very realistic, except that schizophrenic hallucinations are auditory rather than visual.

Emily Rose.
I just got back from seeing The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. It really did have some shocking and horrifying visuals of hallucinations. I might mix it up and use both. I'm think that she should see herself in the mirror, only in a more beautiful form.

Mother/Father
What was the queen's relationship with SN's father? Under what circumstances was the child conceived (willingly or unwillingly?) If the father was evil (or magical?) and the daughter shows signs of growing up like him, the queen might feel driven to kill her.

Perhaps this birth was foretold for either good or evil (depending on one's point of view if there is a war/conflict in progress, with SN's father on one side and the mother on the other). If the queen realizes this, it could be another reason to get rid of the child.

So...who WAS the father?

Father
The father is really only in a couple of scenes. The queen, Mary has a strange visit from her sister. Mary is still pregnant with SW. Her sister, brings a strange mirror with her. Her sister is clearly insane and she soon leaps from Mary's window, leaving Mary the mirror. Mary hangs it up, but soon starts seeing strange things and having visions of the people around her turning into demonic villans. She finds out that the mirror is causing it, so she has Samuel, the huntsman to take it down and keep in in aplace that no one will ever find it.

So anyway, the visions cease and Snow White is born. Mary loves her child with all her heart. Everything is going great, besides the fact that the king is never there most of the time. One day, Samuel reports that the king has been killed while hunting. Mary does mourn, though. Of course, Snow White finds the mirror in the attic and hangs it up in Mary's room. As soon as Mary walks in and sees it, the spirit possesses her. Now, Mary's visions ar back and she is becoming increasingly hostile to everyone. You can only guess what happens now.

Do you like that? I really want to find out how to incorporate some really horrific and scary images into the film. I wan't the movie to be very scary. Any ideas?

Mary loved Snow White's real father. At the time, she was married to the King. She did not love the king, though. Snow White's uncle is Samuel, the huntmsan who acts as the father figure for her. Samuel is more than just a huntsman, he is the only one who Mary and Snow White can both trust. He is sort of caught in between these two. There is a falling out w/ the king and Mary that is never resolved or forgiven, becasue the king dies.
