The above was written from the dictation of Catherine Sustrac of Sainte-Eulalie, Canton Roque-Timbaut (Lot-et-Garonne). There is another version of Peau d'Ane in la Gascogne and in Agen, exactly resembling Perrault's. Those who told it to me had it direct, or through intermediaries from readers of Perrault.
